Watch authentication
Every watch is examined before it enters our inventory, and again before it is listed. Four stages, in this order, with nothing skipped because a piece looks right.
Physical inspection
Before a watch enters our inventory it is examined by our technicians and watch specialists, drawing on more than fifteen years in the industry.
- The DNA check
- Serial and reference numbers are scrutinised against manufacturer databases to confirm model accuracy and production year.
- Macro-inspection
- Under high magnification we verify the micro-printing on dials, the hand-finished bevelling of movements, and the specific weight and density of precious metals.
- Case-back disclosure
- Where necessary we carry out a supervised opening of the case to verify the movement's calibre, finishing and engraving against original manufacturer blueprints.
Global screening and network
Our process goes beyond a visual check. Every watch gets a full audit of its history and provenance, so the background is authenticated and the record is clean.
- Global registry screening
- Every serial number is cross-referenced with global loss and fraud registers to confirm a clean and ethical history.
- Paperwork forensics
- Original warranty cards, service receipts and accessories are reviewed in full to build a complete ownership timeline.
Third-party verification
For high-value or complex references we use our trade history and regional network to arrange independent verification — a further layer of security on the significant acquisitions and sales.
- Specialist network access
- Secondary technical audits are coordinated through the region's leading independent watchmakers and brand-specific specialists.
- Complex model verification
- For rare or complicated references we use our global trade contacts to verify specific movement iterations and part-originality.
- Secondary technical appraisal
- Our network provides independent reporting on movement health and amplitude, to confirm the watch meets factory performance standards.
Extended warranty coverage
For any watch sold outside its original manufacturer's warranty, we provide an independent twelve-month mechanical warranty.
- Mechanical integrity
- Covers all internal movement components and timing functionality.
- Expert repairs
- Any necessary work is carried out by our vetted regional network of master watchmakers.
- Direct support
- We manage the entire service process internally, so the watch comes back to factory performance standards.
- Transferability
- The warranty is tied to the timepiece itself for the full twelve months.
